You can smell the mint green paint
As it chips off the walls
The snow outside is bright from the sun
Reflected light into your eyes
Makes your pupils shrink
And gives you a headache
You close the blinds once more
You’ll stay inside today

You feel sick again today
Another illness to deal with
Your hypochondriac ways will keep you safe

Why wake up when you’re busy getting well?
Another excuse just to keep you in bed.

Fluorescent lighting cold and unforgiving
Fills the room and shines off of the tile floors
False light how you love it so much
You bask in its attempt to simulate the truth
